19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been won on hard surfaces
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial championship for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.
The Russian, a ex- world number one, has had a challenging season, managing just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the American major.
Medvedev's unpredictability on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his service game in especial - caused him dropping out of the top ten and finally parting ways with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.
Presently training with his coach and Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually improved in the past month - culminating in a closely contested competitive victory over challenger Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's maiden championship after the Rome competition and maiden on a hard court since spring of 2023.
Success also signifies he has secured twenty-one victories at 21 different tournaments.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my both daughters simultaneously, so to win a championship is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 Medvedev.
"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter her name was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six finals, including in that event previously this season.
His defensive play style and recurring reactions on the playing surface had prompted observers to doubt if his ability to compete at the top level was over.
However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, striving to advance forward and play assertively, reinforced by an enhanced serving game.
Medvedev came back from a break down in the first set against the tricky opponent, winning four of the concluding five exchanges to go ahead.
The pair swapped break points in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his first professional title, seized the initiative to create a final set.
He saved four early break points in a close third set before the Russian broke to fifteen to secure the win.
Appropriately, Medvedev secured victory with a shot at the net, with the Frenchman unable to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
