Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased attacks in the past few days

Overnight, Russian aerial assaults have caused blackouts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while inhabitants in the city's east were plunged into darkness and dealt with problems to water systems, per reports from local authorities.

At the same time, a young boy was lost their life in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southeastern part, according to area administrators.

Russian forces has escalated attacks on electrical systems over recent weeks, while the country's government has demanded "substantial measures" from international partners to exert influence on Moscow.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the United States, European nations and the major economies - in delivering protection systems and applying restrictions," was stated in a social media post.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen rockets struck the country's power systems, characterizing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "critical infrastructure" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles struck power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Multiple people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been hospitalized, per statements from municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region endured significant strikes during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child was killed and several individuals were wounded.

The strikes succeed periods of air raids in the territory, sections of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to identify.

National leaders told reporters that Russia was intentionally trying to demolish the national power system, with attacks already impacting gas facilities.

Officials stated technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for additional strikes.
